ANZAC Cottage was built by the community in one day in February 1916 as a memorial to those who fought at the Gallipoli landing and as a home for a returned wounded soldier from that conflict and his family.
The Cottage is now a museum, dedicated to telling this unique story and to honouring the service of the men and women who have fought for Australia in battlefields far from home.
The Cottage hosts commemorative Sunset Services on ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day, regular Open Days and welcomes school and social group visits. Visitors are welcomed to the Cottage by the Friends of ANZAC Cottage Inc, who also undertake extensive research into the Cottage's origins and into topics and people related to the Cottage.
